Empowering the Women with Disabilities: Photovoice Journey
FAIRMED, in collaboration with the Swiss Disability and Development Consortium (SDDC), has been at the forefront of amplifying the voices of women with disabilities in Nepal through innovative participatory research methods. One such initiative is the Photovoice study, which enables participants to document their experiences and challenges through photography.

Building Healthier Communities: Lessons from Dhulikhel Municipality
Nepal's urban and rural municipalities are increasingly focusing on holistic development, integrating health, environment, and social well-being into their planning. Dhulikhel Municipality is a role model of this integrated approach, recently recognized by WHO as Nepal’s first and Asia’s second “Healthy City.” To inspire similar progress in other municipalities, FAIRMED organized a two-day exposure visit was for Deputy Mayors, Social Development Committee Chiefs, and Health Coordinators from six municipalities in Sindhupalchowk district under the Sindhupalchok Integrated Health Project (SIHP).

Training Empowers Health Workers to Tackle Rabies in Eastern Nepal
FAIRMED's initiative helps strengthen health systems for rabies management in Koshi Province.
From November 24–25, 2024, a comprehensive two-day training on Rabies Disease Management was conducted in Biratnagar, hosted by the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) with financial and technical support from the FAIRMED/BISWAS project. The program brought together 22 participants from government hospitals and health facilities in Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari, including medical officers, health workers, and representatives from FAIRMED and SAHARA.

Disaster Relief Brings Hope to Flood-Affected Families in Sindhupalchwok
On September 28, 2024, severe landslides and floods devastated the Sunkoshi and Indrawati regions in Sindhupalchok district, displacing families and causing significant property damage. In response, FAIRMED in collaboration with its local partner, took action to provide essential relief to the most affected households.

Government Releases Two Key Publications for Leprosy Diagnosis Training
In a significant step toward improving health outcomes, the government of Gandaki Province, with the dedicated support of FAIRMED, has released two essential publications: Leprosy Diagnosis Training Manual and Leprosy Diagnosis Participant Handbook. These publications are expected to strengthen leprosy diagnosis capabilities at the community level, ensuring the disease is detected early and treated effectively.
What we do
Even those who are in poverty, disadvantaged or live in isolation should be allowed to be healthy. We help these people to stay healthy or to recover their health.
